Marble Headstones Supplier in Melbourne

The passing of a friend or family member can cause a great deal of stress and unhappiness for any family. There is no proven way for anyone to heal, as this is a process that is unique to everyone. However, time is the greatest healer of all, giving us the opportunity to come to terms with the death of a loved one. The best way to honour our loved ones during this time of sadness is to commemorate them with a grave headstone. They are a great way to reflect and honour those who have passed, giving them a permanent memorial that will provide you with a place of mourning to pay your respects.

Types of Marble

At Castagna Monuments, we offer a range of different marble options in various colours. There are three main types that we use.

Carrara – This is one of the most common types of marble, named after the Italian region it originates from. Carrara has a grey background, with a light grey veining. This stone can also tend toward blue-grey in colour.

Statuary – Statuary marble also comes from the Carrara region, however it has more of a bright white background, with less colour variation. Veins are usually dark grey and feature a strong contrast between the two

Calacatta – Originating from the same region once again, Calacatta marble features a bright white background with more colour variation, ranging from gold to beige and dark grey veins.

How long do marble headstones last?

If you care for your marble headstone correctly, it could last for well over 100 years. You should only clean a marble headstone every 7+ years to avoid breaking it down. Use clean water, a soft bristle brush and a gentle detergent. Marble is tough and durable, built to withstand the test of time.

How much do marble headstones cost?

The price of a marble headstone can vary greatly depending on the size, the kind of marble used, lettering, and any additional features added.
